My biggest fear is dying of a Tiktok challenge that isn't even trending, so no one knows what I was trying to do. Just finding my body with 800 rubber bands tied around my neck and my head 60 ft across the room where it popped off. Asking "And why is he nude below the belt? That can't be part of it"

Forever holding on to hope that some day an indie game studio will create a spiritual successor to Actraiser.

Are the next 4 years really going to be logging on everyday to sentences like "a 19 year old doge intern called Big Balls has your social security number" because I'm already at capacity for this sort of thing

Late to the party, but I just tried the demo for Rift of the NecroDancer and I'm very impressed. It's "only" a 3K rhythm game but it's much more than the sum of its parts thanks to really tricky sight-reading that constantly forces you to think ahead. Looking forward to the launch in a few days.

Can't wait for Nomada Studio (Gris, Neva) to announce their next game. I have a feeling it'll be a platformer with watercolor art about grieving the loss of a loved one.

But for real, Neva is a beautiful game and it's worth playing. Just... Maybe not a week after you had to put your dog to sleep.

This might be controversial but as a fan of 90’s FPS I’m struggling to get into WH40K: Boltgun. I appreciate how heavy your character feels, but the effect is lessened by bullet sponge enemies, and level design is too focused on big combat arenas with waves of respawning enemies.

Somebody yelled at me for posting about Ganymede instead of /the state of things/ last night.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

Over the next 4 years you may feel an urge to make a post relating politics to your favorite pop culture franchise. I am absolutely begging you not to.

Please, I will pay any price to never see another “this is just like in Endgame when Thanos…”

Steam Deck ownership:

Pros: it’s amazing. It runs everything I throw at it. I already have ~20 years of library built up for it. It’s literally all the upsides of a Switch with none of the drawbacks.

Cons: Every game I didn’t buy on PC feels like a mistake now. I can’t put it down. Send help.

Whenever game designers show off early design notes their handwriting is either meticulous or it looks like a stylish font with a name like "Eccentric Artist," but my handwriting font would probably just be called "Drunk Toddler"...

Sure, I COULD clean up around the apartment. Or, hear me out, I could play Powerwash Simulator VR and pretend I'm cleaning for 2 hours instead.

The difference between the internet and real life is that in the latter, if you get called out for saying something stupid, it's normal to back down and admit you got carried away. Online, the norm is to keep doubling down forever until you're just in full-on screeching psychosis.
