To be fair, the Severe Thunderstorm Warning did have a Tornado Possible tag.

Emergency management controls the outdoor warning sirens.

Unless they have a policy that says they absolutely won’t turn the sirens on unless there’s a tornado warning, then they didn’t do anything wrong. 🤷‍♂️

The shading was based on the local forecast. The values are the 25-75 percentiles.

The communication value of that is 0.

The forecast was entirely dependent on how far inland the lake effect got.

58 airport weather stations are going to go offline - primarily in North Carolina and Maryland.

While each state has mesonets (ECOnet in NC and the Maryland Mesonet in MD), mesonets should supplement the existing surface observation infrastructure.

That's what we're doing in Wisconsin.
