The Met Office are letting us submit our own storm name suggestions:

www.metoffice.gov.uk/forms/name-o...

There's space for five names in the submission boxes.

Let's go with:

Exxon Mobil
BP
Shell
Equinor
Chevron

At last, those companies will get the recognition they deserve.

Pls retweet!

A coyote & badger pair were captured on a trailcam by the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) near Gilroy, CA in 2020.

Look, I would absolutely watch a movie about these two, but there's also a fascinating bit of biology here.

Interspecies cooperation is well established between these two species.

Alt: A black and white trail cam focuses on a culvert (cement or metal cylinder for drainage). A coyote jumps to get the attention of a waddling badger, who then follows into the culvert.

This is absolutely not a fair representation of the evidence you were provided with last week, Kim.

I spoke in sincere good faith, & as a palliative care doctor who is *not* opposed to assisted dying.

As you know, I pushed back strongly against this claim from Chris Whitty. (1/n)
The Mental Capacity Act is the right place to start in terms of determining if a patient can make this decision. It's been tried and tested. It's used every day. Doctors are confident using it and it strikes the right balance - protecting both them and their patients. 4/7

Air in healthcare settings (and care homes) have much more COVID than other public spaces. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... . These are places more likely to have both people with COVID, and vulnerable people for whom it's really bad to catch COVID, so should be targeted. My thoughts: 1/

The authors point out that AI models base their predictions on sneaky shortcut effects all the time; they're just easier to identify when the conclusions (beer drinking) are clearly spurious.
