Call your Senators. This bill points a gun at the disabled, trans, and poor. Flooding their phones is the only way anything shifts here.
It's cruel. It's an incredible escalation of their anti-trans culture war. And there is still a chance to stop the provision in the Senate, so if you have a trans person in your life you care about, I implore you - make your voice heard with your Senators. Both of them. Republican OR Democrat.
BREAKING: Republicans pass ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ stripping transgender Americans of health care
The Human Rights Campaign called the bill "cruel."

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

Sec. 70302 – Blocks courts from enforcing contempt charges against government officials, unless a judge required a monetary bond when issuing the original injunction.

This is what an authoritarian regime would do. Hidden deep in Trump’s 1,100-page bill that passed the House today is a provision that would block federal courts from enforcing contempt charges against government officials who violate court orders.

The Trump FTC chair has explicitly said he wants to use the agency to target LGBTQ content. They will absolutely claim (as right wing AGs have) that simply learning that trans people exist makes kids “anxious” and that seeing content about racism or climate change makes them “depressed” etc etc

So, KOSA supporters have tried to claim that the bill is “content neutral” because it targets design features (ie algorithmic recommendations) rather than content itself. This is smoke and mirrors. KOSA lets the FTC go after platforms for showing content that could make kids “depressed” or “anxious”
Question- what is content neutral?

Absolutely *thrilled* to come across a flock of American golden-plovers. These birds zoom through the prairies in the spring on their epic migration from the pampas of Argentina to the tundra in Canada and Alaska (~13,000 km). Imagine! They don't even look tired #birds

1000% and it's extremely weird.I'm arab so i'm intimately aware of how homonationalism + concern trolling about islam has been used to manufacture consent for war but the histrionics every time an ex muslim or christian expresses the tiniest bit of disdain for their oppressive upbringing is wild

Well, here we go. The GOP has just introduced a bill to effectively outlaw all pornography.

The bill dismantles the Supreme Court's Miller Test for obscenity, removing provisions that the content be patently offensive to community standards.
