Not that I believe really anything Nuzzi writes, given her record, but the far bigger scandal here is her claim that RFK Jr. was still actively using psychedelics last year, then became HHS secretary in an admin that is killing people for smuggling recreational drugs.

A former career DOJ guy told me a few weeks ago that prior to Trump, the FBI was the varsity team, DHI and ICE were junior varsity, and Border Patrol were like a drunken office softball team. And under Trump, the drunk softball guys are now in charge.
Listen to this Border Patrol agent cry about how he's going to be DOXXED after being arrested for drunkenly barging into a woman's restroom with a loaded gun, demanding a date from the woman inside, and then punching the arresting officers.

I’d say that the imposition of this administrative burden is a solution in search of a problem (fraud and abuse, not a systemic issue), but it’s really a solution to a different problem: Poor people being able to exist with basic dignity.
After using hungry Americans as pawns, this will only make it more difficult for families in need to put food on the table.

Worth pointing out that in 2009, DHS released a threat assessment report focused on potential threats from the radical right. Then Sec. Janet Napolitano was forced to apologize b/c it was seen as derogatory toward veterans. www.dhs.gov/archive/news...

Before Charlie Kirk's murder, @ariberman.bsky.social predicted Trump's rigging plans for the 2026 midterms would include ramping up plans to expand investigations into groups they view as a threat.

Now, in the wake of Kirk's death, Trump & his inner circle have ratcheted up this rhetoric even more.

Luigi has some high powered attorneys defending him. I'm not surprised these charges were dismissed.
“Two state terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione, the defendant in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare’s chief executive last year, were dismissed…including one that had accused him of first-degree murder.”

The highest spikes here are due largely to Trump's tantrum that Bolsonaro got prosecuted.
Under Donald Trump’s economy:

Coffee is up 26%
Beef is up 14%
Oranges are up 17%
Bananas are up 6%
Chicken is up 6%
Chocolate Chip Cookies are up 5%
Potato Chips are up 4%
Milk is up 4%
But average worker pay is only up 2%

A reporter just asked the U.S. president a perfectly legitimate question about his attorney general's vow to prosecute people for constitutionally protected speech.

He responded by threatening to prosecute the reporter.

The threat itself is an abuse of power. It ought to be an impeachable offense.
JON KARL: What do you make of Pam Bondi saying she's gonna go after hate speech? A lot of your allies say hate speech is free speech

TRUMP: We'll probably go after people like you because you treat me so unfairly. You have a lot of hate in your hate. Maybe they'll have to go after you.

/4 Except this is not, in fact, a particularly good idea. The “fighting words” exception is defunct. It hasn’t been used by the Supreme Court to justify a speech restriction in living memory and it was specifically rejected as a basis to uphold flag burning laws.
