An update on how the City of Vancouver provides real-time text updates and information about its council meetings.

Currently, the only way you can get that information is by having an account on X, the very fun website that everyone loves.

Yesterday, they passed a motion to explore alternatives.

2/8 Evacuation orders are expanding in Abbotsford.

South of the border, Sumas, Wash., was inundated in the span of an hour.

Data suggests a flood similar to 1990—smaller than 2021, but dangerous enough to close Highway 1 and threaten livestock.

Almost all of them switched decades ago or longer. Tell me how we are going to move from where we are today , to where you want to go ?

Saying you want it is easy. All I'm asking is how are we going to get there ?

If Bernie's M4A passed under Biden, RFK jr would be running M4A today.
Every other country does it, Mark. It's not some vague thought experiment.

Lots of ways it can be imperfect, of course, but it fundamentally gives everyone access to healthcare without fear of bankruptcy.

An insane political move. One of the recurring complaints about immigration in the U.S. is that those seeking asylum jump the line. This is line-jumping — but for rich people, not those in need.

Back to this. we are seeing a plateauing. That could be good. But it could also just suggest the gauge has topped out and we have hit the "water goes everywhere" stage earlier than anticipated, which would suggest a bigger -- or at least an earlier -- peak than anticipated.

This gauge is suggesting the river is peaking below major flood level. That would be good. But the fact the river is overflowing at Everson suggests that the calibration of the gauge could turn out to have been miscalibrated. The overflow levels we can see don't quite match this.
