In their long history, the Grateful Dead only played the city of El Paso once. And at that show Bobby did not pass up the chance to play El Paso, which the crowd met with jubilant cheers.

I miss the early days of touring when some random guy with no booking experience would book a show in some shitty venue and overpay me to play a show for him and twenty friends. Sure, he'd be broke and sad after but his friends had fun and he learned a valuable lesson.
