A better answer: replace stamp duty with a smarter tax, that's fairer, doesn't discourage people from moving, and can't be avoided.

I'll be writing more about that at the weekend.

What's to stop Andy Burnham leading an anti-Reform umbrella movement at the next election. Whether the PLP want him as Labour leader or not.

Why is the Charlie Kirk killing still leading the BBC news today? Prior to this week the vast majority of us had never heard of Charlie Kirk.

It's news but the Mandelson fall out is surly bigger news for the UK.

Love it or hate it Farage's strength is to focus on single issues and not sway with the wind on them.

Triangulation in contrast seems to end up pleasing no one.
The issue salience story of this year has been the steady climb of people selecting immigration levels or channel crossings as a top issue. Meanwhile crime has crossed 20% for the first time since last Autumn. Cost of living retains its number one spot.

“If an autonomous car is going to crash into a group of old people or a group of young people, what’s the AI in there that says what’s the right decision?

These figures always highlight for me just how much the Tories p****d up against a wall on track and trace, PPE etc during COVID. Mind boggling.
New data reveals that 40% of corporation tax due from small businesses isn’t being paid.

It’s a hidden crisis that costs the UK £15 billion a year — and HMRC has quietly lost control.
