A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

Spending the day updating client e-commerce sites to pass the tariffs on to consumers. Last week I was backing up research databases in anticipation of their organizations losing their funding.

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me."

Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

If you're curious what the potential impact to your local area is from the NIH cuts I've added a summary tab by congressional district.

Again, the numbers are based on full year/program cuts and some may already be paid, but it tells a tale.

I think a lot of people are forgetting about Hanlon's razor when it comes to Elon's recent tantrum. His political naivety is showing more than anything else. He just upset a whole lot of very powerful lobbies, I don't think he understands the ramifications at all.

Amtrak is underrated. You need patience to go on a long train ride but this is my second 13 hour ride this week and I'd do it again.

Woke up in downtown DC, sleeping in my own bed in VT tonight, all for less than $130. No TSA, no airport BS.

It’s so fun to have a true, genuine folk hero emerge in 2024. A mysterious stranger whose action represents the frustrations, hopes, and dreams of the people. I hope we never learn anything more about him.

Autistic people are often called AGGRESSIVE, SELF-CENTERED, COCKY, and OFF-TOPIC.

9 times out of 10 it’s that we are actually ASSERTIVE, ADVOCATING FOR OUR NEEDS WHICH HAVE BEEN VIOLENTLY DENIED TO US, CONFIDENT, and KNOWLEDGABLE.

Autistic people are valuable.
