Enjoy a lot of sports, mainly watching these days as the body is creaking.
Something needs to change with this Ireland team. Haven't really looked like scoring a try since Furlong scored. They consistently don't have a set piece and there is no pace anywhere in this team.

Take out the scrum and Ulster have been really good here, but injuries could come back and bite here. Also, hard to see how we aren't flying out backrows for next week given Augustus went off at HT, Reffell looks to have a banjaxed arm, Timoney off on Ireland duty.

The Ireland squad is so pathetic and cowardly from the coaches. Zero ambition to try and change. It's a squad that would make you believe that Ireland weren't crap in 6 of their last 8 tests against Tier 1 nations (and one of those was against Scotland who usually shit the bed v Ireland).

As a bad boss of PGMOL, having been a bang average ref, and a former South Yorkshire bizzie, Howard Webb may be one of the worst humans in football.

I think this means that we are watching the 1st test centres tonight and probably increases Owen Farrell's chances of being on the bench as 10 and 12 cover, with Hansen and Freeman in contention for 14 shirt and the other on the bench.

If you want to show ambition and appoint a good coach, the IRFU will make it happen.

Meanwhile, if you have a clueless bluffer of a GM who can't/won't identify competent coaches, you get lumbered with the IRFU picks and go down the toilet.

All United stuff aside, I’m genuinely very happy for Ange tbh. I think the level of vitriol towards him has gotten a bit much. Maybe he’s not an elite coach, and he defo can be a sour fella (can’t we all) - but genuinely think he’s still probably a good guy and good company. Again, happy for him.

The only team I'm fairly confident will finish below Ulster next season are the Dragon's. We have no URC standard loosehead, no convincing URC lock in 2025, one 9 with the talent to play in the URC but not the attitude, a 21 year old 10 and no real alternatives, and a joke shop of senior players.
Thank feck that season's over. Plenty at Ulster, players, coaching staff and administration at the club, need to use the long break to have a hard look at themselves. Not good enough. So little to pin hope on. Far too many don't have Ulster's best interests at heart, no matter what they think.

The first half showed why we are champions. Really clever and controlled aggression.

The second half showed why we went out to PSG. Lack of pace, lose duels, and drop-off in attacking and midfield options from the bench.

Not sure what on earth folks expected with Trent.

The way he’s engineered his exit always left him open to this sort of emotional reaction.

Wouldn’t pay too much heed to lectures/moralising from rival fans around what’s appropriate or not.

A distraction no one needs.

I feel like the Labour leadership is once again overestimating the vote-winning potential of a PR blitz. When some combination of universities and either the social care system or the councils that fund it start collapsing on your watch, no one's gonna care that you got a few good headlines first.

The amount of Ulster fans still pushing this narrative that we have a top 8 squad is worrying. There are talented players, but fundamentally, there are gaps all over the place that no amount of coaching can cover up (and I say that as somebody not remotely convinced by the coaches).

Barring Henderson, Ulster's forwards haven't shown up. Getting demolished at so many breakdowns and the maul defence has been weak.

If I say to you 'I want a pony in my flat, but I don't believe that I will have to clean up its shit, spend anything on feeding it or in any way change my lifestyle to accommodate it', which is essentially what the voters Downing Street obsesses over say about immigration, should you get me a pony?

So much money has been spent by Leinster, yet it is baffling they've persisted with Leo Cullen for so long. The bloke is terrified by his own shadow when it comes to making big decisions. It might be better if they don't win the URC as there is no way he can survive that.

Look I'm not saying this is the EPCR's fault... but it's the EPCR's fault. The pricing was miles above what Leinster/IRFU normally charge for knockouts at the Aviva/Croker: tickets for the QF in a stadium at half capacity were €58. Almost identical seats for the SF were €77 in a fully open Aviva 🤔
Leinster’s semi-final against Northampton at Aviva Stadium set to be well short of a full house
Saturday’s Champions Cup semi-final between Leinster and Northampton looks like falling well short of a sell-out at the Aviva Stadium.

He's an absolute wally. Nobody thought Spurs finishing 5th last season was a 'disaster', but they got criticised for how bad they were from November onwards. Finishing in the bottom 7 for a club like Spurs is pathetic.

As an Ulster fan, I don't think I'll be taking lectures from Matt Williams about pro rugby, technical knowledge, and winning given he was the worst coach Ulster have had in the pro era while also being a thundering bellend.
The intellectual dishonesty at the core of all of Matt Williams writing means that the only subtext to take from this article is that the former is directly tied to the latter, which I'm sure wasn't Williams' intent
