I joined @merkley.senate.gov during his historic marathon floor speech to call out Trump's assault on Congress's power of the purse.

It's a gross abuse of power and it's corruption, plain and simple.

I'll keep sounding the alarm on Trump's unconstitutional power grab.

We all know the goal was always to “own the libs.” And in chasing that, too many have given up their own freedoms just to claim a hollow “win.” What they don’t see is that the monster they fed never stops, it eventually comes for us all. And now their silence is deafening.

Americans do not want to live under a military state, that was never the American dream. Our country was founded on the promise of liberty, not soldiers patrolling our streets. The Constitution is clear: the military does not police civilians.

Stop giving in to defeatism.
When the GOP surged into the House when I was in my 30s, Dems had controlled it since before I was born, and many GOPers had just accepted that Dems controlling Congress (and the cities) was just the natural order of things. Dems now are internalizing that same feeling.
I can count on RW opposition hanging invented garbage around any neck, 24/7.

You want it both ways. Searches of scads of D & R comms? Nah, doesn't count. One term in one doc 4 years ago, w/no utterance by Biden himself, at any time? Oh, that shows sth "regularly used" by a D presidential candidate!
