Hello Bluesky! I'm a protest journalist, and will share out pieces here!

Most recently, I've written about grand jury fishing expeditions against Stop Cop City activists and the FBI's decision to open a domestic terrorism file on a small environmentalist movement.

They Protested a Military Base Expansion. So the FBI Investigated Them as Terrorism Suspects.
The FBI filed a Stop Camp Grayling protest in a terrorism investigation file — then did physical surveillance on a demonstration.

Guilt-by-association tactics should trouble anyone concerned with protest rights.

Neither of the two protesters facing federal terrorism charges are accused of firing the gunshot that injured a cop during a July 4 protest.

“Antifa” Protesters Charged With Terrorism for Constitutionally Protected Activity
After a protest against ICE, federal prosecutors pursued guilt-by-association charges against two “antifa” protesters.

Huge news that the Cop City RICO charges have fallen apart.

Bail fund organizers shouldn't have to fear prosecution. Neither should legal observers. Protesters should not be held collectively liable for any crime committed.

The dropped charges represent a massive victory of sustained organizing.

Events are happening all over the country, and internationally. It's a beautiful sign of the power we still have!

Tesla profits fell 71% last quarter, and Tesla Takedown protesters are jubilant. Right wing activists and misplaced scrutiny from fusion centers has failed to tamp down a movement that turns out week after week.

If Dems in Congress are serious about wanting access to the National Security Council's records, they should introduce legislation making NSC subject to FOIA.

It's currently not and is a Presidential Records Act entity, which means there's no outside oversight of its records policies.

If you're not the government (bound to intra-governmental oversight and higher security channels), Signal is a pretty darn good tool for discussing sensitive info.

But, if there's a moral of the story here for activists, it should be: your digital security is only as good as your vetting.

Oh, good, bullshit jobs and firing threats for our "separate," and "coequal" branch too.
With Elon’s “tell us what you accomplished last week or you’re fired” emails: I can confirm that he didn’t limit himself to the executive branch. He sent them to employees of the judicial branch as well.

I mentioned this was a possibility after the first report was issued in January.

The database contained info on misconduct for 2018 through 2023 and held 4,790 records.

I’d keep a close eye on DOJ’s Bureau of Justice Statistics website.

Surveillance capitalism comes for us all - including, apparently without flag, natsec employee targets.
Google overtly dodged questions from WIRED as to whether it assigns any risk to helping data brokers target federal employees who work national security jobs—or federal contractors who have access to restricted defense-related data and materials. We asked three times & were ignored on each.
