This article pretty much sums up why I love tech - it has the potential to be an equaliser and we live in an age where it can be so much more accessible to those who might not have had the opportunity ten, twenty or thirty years ago. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Enough of the billionaires and their big tech. ‘Frugal tech’ will build us all a better world | Eleanor Drage
Titans like Musk would love us to believe innovation means top-down solutions that only enrich the wealthy. In fact, we all have the power, says Eleanor Drage, research fellow at Cambridge University

I love the art on the limited edition covers. I would totally purchase prints of these to put up in my office.

After three days of coding constipation, being stuck on an insidious React state problem, my brain's rectum opened up and spattered the sprint board with three closed tickets. Code quality to analogy suitability ratio yet to be determined, but my brainus hurts a lot less and that's all I care about.

This made me so happy.
Last year the Japanese variety show Gaki no Tsukai had the famous singer Yoko Takahashi go undercover at a restaurant where she fooled everyone right up until she took the stage and belted out A Cruel Angel's Thesis, the intro song to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just stunning.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am that there's a big fat supplement coming for #Frostgrave in August. I'll be getting that preorder in for Advanced Spellcraft come pay day.

Just wanted to post this pic of Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) and Hayao Miyazaki, two of my favorite storytellers.

Not just because their work is pretty, but because their stories are meaningful. Because they speak of pain as well as the beauty of life.

Because their stories are above all human.

I know Viktor Antonov was known for many things, but for me the biggest impact of his work was seeing the very distinct Eastern European environments of Half-Life 2 for the first time. At the time you just didn't see these kinds of things depicted realistically in games.

I love that I can casually chuck fifteen or twenty minutes into my little castle village before bed. Day and night shot for #TinyGlade.

I'm enjoying building dinky and cosy little castles in #TinyGlade, because I am far too tired to build dinky little castle terrain for my #Frostgrave game next week. I anticipate this is just the start of a bottomless pit kind of obsession.

Iunno if this is common knowledge (I'm self-taught in this stuff, can't make myself sit through tutorial vids) but for those shading white fabric on a #dnd or similar mini? Mix 10% blue ink and 90% Spirit Medium (by Two Thin Coats) or similar. 1 drop to 9 drops gets you a long way. This is IT.

My Nintendo Switch year in review. Honestly, just looking at these three together makes me very happy. Very surprised though that #Balatro isn't here - maybe in 2025?

Went to the doctor today. Told them I felt worn down, tired, and constantly stressed.

Doctor said: "I’ve got an easy fix. Check out this new game called Balatro. It’s a roguelike deckbuilder and the talk of the town. That’ll pick you up."

But doctor…

Creating video games is hard, but working with publishers can be even harder. To help level the playing field, I've been working with with a law firm to develop a foundational "starting point" for solo developers to use when developing publishing contracts.

It'll be free and uploaded next week 🙂

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It was my introduction to the Zelda series, it was a marvel of epic storytelling when it first came out and I still play it at least once a year since. It might not have dated well gameplay-wise, but it'll always be my perfect game.
Tell me about one of your favorite video games and why it means so much to you.
It can be from any era.

Morrowind. I like to think that I could live in a fantasy mushroom land where I could persistently hear that soundtrack going on in the background, but I'd probably just hang around Seyda Neen the whole time - can't be bothered with those cliff racers.
