Consulting more ancient texts ... the flip side of this card has Mrs. Ward's recipe. She was a friend of my grandparents, and adjusting for batch size she calls for double that amount of ginger. (She also used more molasses - Mrs. Ward knew what was up and wasn't scared of flavor.)

2) the anouncer just dropped a rendition of "Go see Cal" which is one helluva deep cut for us california old heads

I know the internet's odds are impossible, but I wish Glen Phillips (lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket) knew how often I thought of his song "Dr. Dresser"
I suspect it's far far more often than he'd ever imagine & I'd like to think he'd find a little delight in that.
