This conference is happening today and tomorrow. I had a chance to sit in on a session featuring Sheilah Nicholas, a Hopi linguist - reminding me of my responsibility to learn my language. Our tribal nations need our languages to exist and thrive.

I tried caviar for the first time last week. It was on the menu as a “bump” and we decided to give it a go. I have to say, it was buttery and salty, sort of like an oyster. They serve it to you like this - I’d try it again. 😌

Hubby and I were supposed to run the half marathon tomorrow but we decided to make it a long weekend, meeting up with my son to hang out in San Antonio 🩵 any military moms with adult children out there? I long for the days when Anthony was younger.

We ended our weekend with a 3.5 mile hike near our home. We noticed this tree, I think this is a Palo Verde, that’s decorated for the holidays. It was a gorgeous day, we really made the most of it.

If you’re lucky enough, and the weather is agreeable, there are beautiful and delicious pomegranates out there, waiting to be picked.

On a more serious note, how I am coping after the election is by 1) getting outdoors to calm my mind 2) organizing my cabinets to clear spaces and 3) aggressively paying down credit card balances because those consumer protections are about to go away. I’m also training for my next half-marathon.
