Please stop putting minsinfo about Arc Raiders and "AI" on my TL I swear it's gonna give me an aneurysm.
*sigh* I like Eurogamer and I appreciate that they're taking an avowed anti-AI stance, I also appreciate that this article highlights the differences between Machine Learning & the kinds of generative tools people have issues with

Alright with that rant out of my system I'm gonna try and stop talking about the Arc Raiders stuff. I think the reason it sticks in my craw so bad is because I have seen people carry those same misunderstandings of vocal synthesis and machine learning into attacks on the Virtual Singer community =/

I wish I didn't have to work half as much so I could just do the kinds of Instagram pet owners do for their pets like make a full obstacle course through their whole apartment or make them movie sets with miniatures ain't nobody working full time got time for that

This post is a bit misleading. If you look into it, the extent to which Arc Raiders uses "AI" is that they have some TTS voice lines in-game that, -with the voice actors' consent-, are trained on the VA's performances to sound like their characters. Again, this is WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE ACTORS.
Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.
They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.
