Delighted to agree Belfast council will provide funding on a cross departmental and cross council approach for night buses to start as soon as Nov 2025.

Will support:

- Our nighttime economy.
- Public safety.
- Environmental sustainability.

One of our 100 goals for the term.

Busy night at full council this month. Pleased to see my proposal for an enhanced Sunday trading scheme in 2026 passed. Plus secured funding for improved cleansing services (for the city centre and arterial routes) and funding to tackle racism.

What a roller coaster.

Has to be the most insane and nerve wracking Masters I’ve watched. From the ridiculous to the sublime and then some.

Congrats Rory. Well deserved.
GLORY FOR RORY 🏆

The wait is over. Rory McIlroy has finally won his first Masters — and completed a career grand slam in the process.

🚨 No Place for Paramilitaries in Our Society 🚨

At tonight’s Council meeting, I proposed a motion opposing the UK and Irish Governments' flawed plan to engage with paramilitary groups.

🔹 No more control over our community
🔹 No more crime and intimidation
🔹 No more legitimacy given to these groups

The notice for the expanded kerbside glass recycling routes in Lisnasharragh, Ormiston, Black Mountain and Colin are now hitting 23k doorsteps.

Proof that Alliance works- our proposal for £500k last year led to this rollout, and the rest of the expansion will be completed in a maximum of 2 years

Delighted Alliance have secured a number of priorities for funding at committee today (subject to ratification at full council).

Very sad to hear of Michael Longley’s passing. We are blessed with many great poets in Ireland and he is one of the greatest.

I managed to meet him just the once and he came across very warm and friendly.

Many great poems but I feel this one has been with me my whole adult life.

I hope Bangor Academy and Rathmore Primary School now consider legal action to challenge the Minister's awful decision, an apparent breach of the Department of Education’s statutory duty to ‘support, encourage and facilitate’ integrated education.

Today, DUP Education Minister Paul Givan blocked two North Down schools from becoming integrated despite a majority of parents voting in favour.

Integrated education is a cornerstone of the united community we're trying to build.

The minister must urgently explain his decision.

We held a vigil today to remember Gary who tragically died in a collision with a lorry when cycling to work.

Safe, segregated cycling infrastructure will save lives and it’s a disgrace there has been so little progress over the last decade.

Thanks to all who attended.

Today, @eointennyson.bsky.social has launched a consultation on proposals to ban these cruel and archaic practices.

I will be cycling to this vigil with the group to remember Gary, who just wanted to get to work safely.

This happened on the route I cycle to work on. It’s chilling and it’s not acceptable that cyclists have to put themselves in this much danger to get to the city centre.
