#BlueSky newbie here -- moving over from the site formerly known as Twitter, and possibly Threads too. Writing new e-book on #climate -- want to advocate for better policy and solutions. Also a speaker and writer on tech and productivity topics. #Introduction
The countries that invest the most in #AI are likely going to run into some major wealth and income disparity problems moving forward.

Awesome news here. We as a species may want to move away from an extraction-based economy posthaste. We're on a dead end path (literally).

Most likely outcome of #AI development -- far more of us get poorer with a few of us getting far richer. Governments around the world should be looking hard at how this tech benefits/hurts their citizens and setting guidelines/procedures/limits as of yesterday. #Artificialintelligence

Pre-market #Tesla stock up $7 after announcing huge $29 billion stock compensation gift to the muskrat. I would argue this is horribly bad news for the company -- it needs to remove the muskrat infestation rather than entrench it: www.tipranks.com/news/tesla-s...

There is only one reason you would vote to seal the #Epstein files, and it sure as hell isn't to protect the interest and safety of the citizens. We truly cannot allow the United States to become a government "by the pedophile, for the pedophile."
July 15, 2025 at 7:01 PM
If we as a species had any brains, we'd put a global moratorium on AI development until we have a plan to do it in a way that doesn't require the use of any fossil fuels to power it, due to the risks of further accelerating the climate crisis. But, we as a species don't have any brains.

Big aBomination of a Bill means #Tesla = Toast. Unless the muskrat finds some way to get this bill to not get scuttled in the House and get signed, he basically loses the #EV tax credit starting in September. With all of the other damage he's done to the brand, would be final nail in the coffin.

We checked out Tesla's supervised, invite-only robotaxi launch. Here's what we saw
Since 2016, CEO Elon Musk has been promising that Tesla vehicles were on the cusp of full autonomy.

Finished #Andor Season 1 and started Season 2. Understanding the hype already. Can't wait to see how this rolls into Rogue One. Powerful cast. Great story (and very relevant for these times). There is a New Hope for the #StarWars franchise - hope they keep making more content like this!

The muskrat, in desperation, rushed his #robotaxis to Austin (in a geofenced area with copilots in the passenger seat and a remote human operator in case the software didn't work right -- not really "robo" at all). And today, we saw a video of how it still didn't work right (and was dangerous).

📣 Exactly this
It takes 3-6 mths JUST to get hires on station. Then mths of training before they can make meaningful contributions. (training also takes time from forecasters keeping ops afloat)

Good to see NWS staffing going in the right direction, but minimal help before hurricane season.
Good to hear the hemorrhaging at NWS will slow. Still, they have lost 560 people this year and are only allowed to hire 125. And the new hires will not be on board to help during the coming hurricane season, for the most part.
SCOOP: The National Weather Service has secured permission to hire about 125 new meteorologists & other specialists as it faces acute staffing shortages in wake of Trump admin. cuts www.cnn.com/2025/06/02/w...

Every day, I am utterly blown away by the increasing levels of open-faced corruption and criminality of this regime, but I am even more floored by the apparent apathy of the average American. Hard to say we don’t deserve this. I just hope the rest of the world avoids the same fate.

Ironic that the orange #climate denier is, by his actions slowing the #economy, not just here but globally, possibly inadvertently helping the climate as these fossil fuels stay in the ground. Shipping being reduced. Trucking layoffs about to happen due to tariffs, etc.
