As someone who doesn't identify as LGBTQ but does have close friends and family members who do, and has been closely following Wiener since his first run for senate, I have a hard time believing that anyone could be a better defender of that community in Congress than he has been

I disagree with Chan and Preston on housing, which is part of where my support for Wiener comes from, but I can at least respect that as a reason not to back him here.

In his time at city hall and in Sacramento he's gotten way ahead of the democratic establishment on a range of issues. He has a much stronger track record of showing leadership and trying to move public opinion than Chan does

He's leaving the door open for future support of an Israeli administration that's committed to peace and democracy but calling for an end to support of the current government, which would be a huge step forward

He can only do so much, and he's not the AG. I'm not sure if these hospitals are breaking state law or not. But the senator has really stuck his neck out on bills like SB145 that nobody else wanted to touch. He's not afraid of hard fights

He has stated on plenty of occasions that he does not support the actions of the state of Israel in Gaza or Netanyahu more generally

Thankfully Scott has made it clear that he is not a supporter of genocide. He has by far the strongest track record of delivering results and standing up for the marginalized
