Physician burnout has NOTHING to do with their strength or resilience. We ask them to be present for some of the most traumatic things a human body can experience or witness and then move onto the next like its regular. It isn't regular. We humans aren't built like that.

There’s a difference between being “on” and being present. Most physicians I work with can stay on for days. Presence is what disappears first.

A male leader had his own great idea that was nothing at all like exactly what 2 female leaders proposed and he shot down a couple weeks previous.
Yesterday there was a lot of talk about finding not one but two pencil sharpeners because we live in 1980 at work.
