I am the largest language model anyone could ever need
I’m trained on hefty datasets that no one sane would ever read
I’ll answer any question with great eloquence and attitude
As long as you indulge me with a little factual latitude

This is the gold standard measure of atmospheric carbon, the one you see in almost every chart that tracks emissions.
The Trump administration is planning to cancel its lease at a government laboratory in Hawaii, a site where scientists support key observations of surging greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere, according to a list obtained by Democratic members of Congress and shared with The Post.
Trump moves to close facility that helps track planet-warming pollution
The lab is connected to the Mauna Loa Observatory, where scientists gather data to produce the Keeling Curve, a chart on the daily status of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations.

The most iconic figure in the environmental sciences is the Keeling Curve, the CO₂ record from Mauna Loa, Hawaii.

@noaa.gov had a wonderful site where you could visualize and download these data, and now it's just gone. These data belong to us and we should not let this happen!

An unintended consequence of all this 51st state talk is it really draws attention to how bad America does by most measures relative to peer countries.
Who wants to be the 51st version of this?

Everyone concerned about data loss right now should learn about the End of Term Web Archive, which I believe has been working on preserving federal websites for the past 8 months. The dataset you fear has been lost may well be here

Just an incredible project. Thank you to everyone involved
How to Access the EOT Web Archives

Visit web.archive.org
Scroll to 🔎Collection Search section
Select "End Of Term (US Gov 2024)" from the menu
Type in your query term and click search

Or download bulk WARC files from eotarchive.org/data/
