DLD mentioned in the Writing Framework for English schools feels like a step forward.
DLD is common, so it needs every teacher to know about it and have strategies to support students.

The Writing Framework is out and I’m pleased to see the focus on oral composition of sentences and vocabulary. However, the best bit is the paragraph about Developmental Language Disorder & its impact on writing on pg. 81!

First of our posters for this year's DLD day on the theme: You can't see DLD!

We look forward to seeing this theme "translated" into all kinds of languages to raise awareness of DLD around the world.

I used my very best am-dram skills in this video because once again those with Developmental Language Disorder were forgotten. #TheForgottenMillion #DevLangDis
If the neurodivergence taskforce wants to make schools better for neurodivergent children, why aren’t the 1 million children with Developmental Language Disorder part of the conversation?😣

This is totally unacceptable!

Don't you agree, Department for Education? #TheForgottenMillion

Been reading quite a bit recently querying the need for diagnoses .
My thoughts: a diagnosis such as DLD is a short cut to general understanding but should not obscure our understanding of a person's individual strength and needs. #DevLangDis
