You can read the psych-ops on Trump in a coloring book.
Trump: "Vladimir Putin said something- one of the most interesting things. He said 'your election was rigged because you have mail in voting. It's impossible to have mail in voting & have honest elections.' He said that to me because we talked about 2020. He said, 'you won that election by so much'"

FROM @reuters.com: President Trump’s rhetoric has galvanized a new wave of far-right activists, fueling growth in white supremacist ranks.

"He’s the best thing that’s happened to us," said the leader of the Aryan Freedom Network.

Brexit was an attempted counter-revolution against many of the changes this country has gone through since 1945. It has turned out to be a failure with elements of farce. This has driven many people on the Right completely mad.

Word of the Day is ‘copemate’ (16th century): the friend in life who gets you through.

It’s one of the 365 entries in Words for Life, an almanac of my favourite words and etymologies to give (I hope) each day a boost.

Blaming Israel for both World Wars, which occurred before the state was created, is not "anti-Israel." It's just old-school antisemitism with "Jews" replaced by "Israel" for deniability. Some of this stuff is hard, but this isn't. Journalism should call something by its name.

In 2023, I wrote about the campaign on the Israeli settler right to expel Palestinians and resettle Gaza, and why it was more likely to happen than many credited. My latest is about how that campaign is closer than ever to succeeding. Gift link:

🧵 Lotte Laserstein (1898-1993) was a German-Swedish Jewish artist. She was persecuted by the Nazis & forced to emigrate to Sweden. After the war her work was considered de trop & old-fashioned. She was rediscovered in 1987 & her work is gradually becoming known. Her’s are amazing images [1]

Au XVe siècle, la mode est aux almanachs de poche, de petits livres faits pour tenir facilement dans... une poche. Les pages sont faites pour être pliées sur elles-mêmes plusieurs fois et lisibles une fois dépliées, comme on le voit bien ici !

Book publishers, especially of nonfiction and textbooks, anticipate a massive decrease in sales as chatbots can both summarize their books and give detailed explanations of their contents. Publishers have tried to fight back but the deck is stacked against them.
