AVATAR'S NOT ME, JUST A PHOTO I TOOK!

Photographer, digital artist, and dad.

You don't have to be good at, or even understand politics to know what's good and what's evil.
I'm bad at social media, and no posts mean no engagement, and no engagement means this post will be seen by nobody, but HAPPY HOLIDAYS ANYWAY, BLUESKY!

2025 and we still have photographers who think naked white women with native headdresses and tomahawks are somehow cool.

But hey. Tits and bush, right?

Who needs innovation?

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.
Artists are losing work, wages, and hope as bosses and clients embrace AI
Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.

Love these images.

I especially love how I thought #2 must be thinking "Whatever, might as well let this happen..."

Yay, another Annie Leibovitz Quarterly Hate Fest!

Like, just don't buy the magazine if you don't like the work? Don't pretend Vogue's going to come knocking on your door if she's fired.

People are probably saying the same or worse about your work, so focus your energy in your own yard.

Nudity isn’t the same as exposure. The best figurative art doesn’t reduce the body—it reveals the person. Vulnerability lives in presence, not just in skin.

People photography here on Bluesky (and social media) is mostly street images or hypersexualized nudes. My thing is portraiture, so this project is refreshing - body positivity and about the person, not just "look at my crotch and pay me $10/mo on OnlyFans!

Great work, @sevenoheight93.bsky.social

To me, the best nude work is when nudity isn't the driving force behind the work.

Also, you don't need a contortionist, a crazy location or a 12 light schematic for great images. Simple lighting, along with model and photographer in tune with purpose and intention makes the best art.

This wins.

Great, now I have to join the #CrappyCommieCameraParty and #shittylenschallenge.
Even though the lens mentioned yesterday is a projection lens, it is also very usable as a studio lens ...

Oof, sometimes it sucks to be in the office...

I don't share much work because 99% of it is children I won't/can't share online.

Going to have to change that, but in the meantime, Daddy gotsta wear a stuffy on his head to make them smiles and that cash...

I do love my work,though.

At this point, I think the only people outside of government in the U.S. with a prosperous future is whomever is getting paid to make these stupid signs Republicans keep hanging on podiums or holding up in congress.
Why did six House Republicans who promised to oppose Medicaid cuts vote for the "big beautiful bill"?

It could be because the bill now contains an expanded "pass-through" tax deduction that would personally benefit them.

Follow the money.
The Curious Case of the Republican Medicaid Turncoats
Six House Republicans opposed Medicaid cuts, then voted for them. It turns out that will grant them a big tax break.

Found a Reddit thread that had way too many #photographers saying they didn't have any #photo #books at all. None. They don't look at printed #photography.

What the hell? How do you learn your craft? What do you immerse yourself in? Social media?

I now believe this industry is dead.

Decided to do a curated account, sharing #art found on and off #Bluesky.

Sometimes there'll be cute pets. I gotta be me.

ps. ALWAYS CREDIT THE ORIGINAL ARTIST!!
My small, insignificant way of bringing art and a smile to the souls of #bluesky. Sometimes #nsfw, but all art should be safe for work - keep your libido out of it.

Also, just for the times, #artfightfascism

Korean baseball is great. And I mean really enjoyable, not because my tv is beating my former phone, and my car is last year's champion.

Sounds bad, teams are named for sponsor companies, not cities. The LG Twins, Doosan Bears and Kiwoon Heroes all play in Seoul, LG and Doosan share a stadium.

What's with Bluesky's numbers? I count 30 something followers, not 106. And 116 posts? I'm chatty, but I don't have THAT much to say. Not of any substance, anyways...

I'm seeing a ton of celebration and thanks, "we've chosen freedom," and that troubles me.
We seem to treat politics like a hockey game - you choose a side, buy their sweater, and celebrate every move they make while crying foul at every move the other team makes.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm tired, but this made me laugh hard. The whitest "festive energy" I've ever seen, and I once played percussion in a new wave Christian concert.
There’s a festive energy in the air at #Sudbury candidate @vivianelapointe.bsky.social’s HQ at Days Inn.
