Wow-fuckin-wee!
On top of total capture of COP by the fossil fuel industry, we now have "Amazon forest felled to build road for climate summit."

At what point do we acknowledge what is now plainly obvious: that this is not the solution, but a big part of the problem, a coverup for BAU?

Over the last year, the social media industry has become such a difficult one for me to operate in - for a multitude of reasons - but this article from @thejournal.ie is a great example of one of them!
"There is irony in Zuckerberg branding US fact-checkers as being “just too politically biased” in a statement that, in both timing and explicit alignment, hints strongly at political expediency."

Art should be funded like science. To properly fund art, you fund failure. Funding failure will give you occasional excellence. Creating any art with the aim of it being popular enough to make money, will give you consistent mediocrity. Arists need funding to play and fail because that's the process
Let me tell you about the weird business that delivers art into our lives, and the impact it has on the long-term careers of artists. This is a thread prompted by yet another article on authors' incomes, and the inevitable reactions from the 'people-would-pay-if-it-was-worth-it-to-them' brigade. 1/

Never, EVER accept the lie that this is somehow a 'forest', just because there are trees: it's not. A real forest is 1,000s of diverse species, all intricately connected.

By contrast, what you're looking at here is one face of the death of nature, covering around 10% of Ireland.
