I think "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" exemplifies American culture more than any other art piece.
Most cultures' folklore involves cautionary tales warning people not to tempt the devil.

thinkin about that time someone did a bad thing, i forgave them for it, then they did enough of the bad thing that it became a pattern, so i mentioned the pattern, and their response was that it was weird of me to remember the times they had done bad things and anticipated that they would do more
