New addition to the collection, Sharp PT-9000 from 1994. You know it's rare when you can't find anyone else who owns one online. Serial number ends in 00011. The touchscreen digitizer is giving me problems, it's practically impossible to complete the pen calibration #vintagecomputer #dos

Everytime you want to use AI to make some ridiculous image or video, ask yourself - is this worth the lives of Congolese people? droughts in low income US cities? exploitation of artists & cultural producers? extinction?

Translation: After we built an addictive tool based on stolen data, exploited labor and plundering the environment, which pushes kids to commit suicides, we were like, why not cash in on "erotica"? After all, this is what building so-called AGI that "benefits humanity" looks like.

Steve Shirley escaped the Holocaust as a child & went on to found one of the earliest software startups. The really impressive part? She employed women programmers who had been pushed out of the workforce after having kids, & allowed them flexible, family friendly, work from home jobs—in the 1960s!

I wonder if there's someone who might be able to prevent him from having his way on this. I can't think of anyone at the moment. Maybe it'll come to me
What Trump said is a fucking outrage.

It’s against democracy.

If Donald Trump has his way on this, our democracy is over.

Listen, I'm going to need us to stop saying that humans are horrible and that all the injustice in the world right now is our collective doing.

It's the doing of a handful of people, and we know their names.

the only masked person
at work or in a store,
please, do not despair,
instead just think back
to kindergarten

“if everyone else
jumped off a bridge
would you do it too?”
and know that at least you
can honestly say: no.
