Anyone up for a campaign to get YouTube to add Bluesky to their custom sharing widget in desktop/laptop browsers.

By campaign I mean using whatever Google offers, such as feedback forms, feature requests in a Google Group group, sharing posts and threads in social media, and a change.org petition.

The phrases custard and ice cream are extremely low contrast to my eyes on my monitor.

This color scheme would great reduce my tendency to use an app.

There's a cutesy non-functional animated explosion when I subscribe to a YouTube channel.

I hate superfluous animations in UIs.

I will subscribe to fewer channels as a result. Yes, even though it only lasts an instant.

The UI should only change as needed to obey orders or answer questions.

Oh, I see, you don't mean a government like every one that's ever existed, made by and of people, who are rats when given godlike power.

You mean a *new* sort of government. One that will turn out good instead of bad.

I guess I should have figured.

Governments are organized force plus forcibly acquired money, the largest amount of money in a society.
I couldn't agree more.
A new system where oppression of any kind is the solution this nation needs.
"Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob."

Centuries of statism have resulted in current campaigns to get the Border Patrol out of the middle of the country.

One step forward, ten steps back.

On X, if you search for "snap" there are many many posts linking to porn videos. The links go to sites that uBlock blocks and I didn't feel like pursuing it. I was looking for news about the SNAP program.

What is the deal with "snap" related porn? I tried googling this with no good results.

Google makes Gemini "available" in Gmail but it can't write messages, can't make filters, has a hands-off attitude to actually working with the email.

I just don't understand the world.

Go in the email and there's an AI writer-editor, but not in the side panel.

My free year of premium Perplexity ran out, and I didn't use it that much.

It's hard changing my ways after frequent and later constant Googling since 2008.

I still want pages of search results that my search terms, not generated answers to questions.

Open alternatives to schools and authorities? Sounds good.
Austrian watchdog rules Microsoft illegally tracked students via 365 Education, violating #GDPR. Schools & authorities blamed, but Redmond can’t dodge responsibility. Time to switch to open alternatives? https://www.theregister.com/2025/10/13/microsoft_365_education_gdpr/

Which AI "deep search"systems can handle a "Can you dig up some dirt on" request without any whining about not harming people or finding a need to make a balance answer, like "Can you did up any dirt on the Nazi tatoo guy Graham Platner?".

With the invention of time travel, we might create a new category of thing to do, retroactive suicide.

If you go back in the past and kill your past self, and your past self is dead but there's still you from the future there, can you be charged with murder, or was it suicide?
