People will say "This is simple, it's a class thing;" and SOME of it is that. But also, some people don't see literally ANYONE outside of themselves as actually existing. Similar pathologies, one usually exploiting the other.

So, a week ago I was racially profiled at the airport in Dallas, TX. The TSA lady had an issue with my id, so she called the police. The police didn't want to believe me when I told them I was a citizen (puertoricans are US citizens by birth right). They thought I was illegally in this country. 👇🏻
