“Why does that person need a mobility scooter, I’ve seen people who are worse and they soldier on”

“Why did they use a wheelchair at the airport & then walk onto the plane?”

“Why do they have a disability placard they look fine!”

The answer to all is it’s none of your business.

Reminders that unfortunately still need to be made:

Do not pat wheelchair user strangers on the head.

Do not touch disabled strangers. Period.

If a disabled person is asking you for support… listen.

Don’t talk over them and make them explain why they need the support.

Don’t tell them they’re wrong and help exists when it doesn’t.

Don’t demand to know “why” they don’t have more help.

The help doesn’t exist. That’s why we’re asking you

It should be illegal to get a full night's sleep and still wake up fatigued. Like, body, I turned you off and back on again. Why are you still broken?

I saw on IG this wonderful #inclusivedisability image by @chronicloveclub.bsky.social and I wanted to say thank you! In my own work, we struggle to see imagery of real inclusive disabilities. It’s so important to give representation to all lived-experience, especially when we cannot directly see it!
