got scammed by this practice only by Adobe: no other SaaS did this with me before or after. I swear I signed up to a monthly plan: but in the fine print apparently it was “annual, paid monthly, cancel for a fee (that we won’t tell you how much it is).

I only skimmed the paper but… it sounds like the subjects were asked to write essays about uninteresting topics, that no one would read. Can you really blame the kids for just copy pasting the output of ChatGPT in that circumstance?

People are always a bit surprised by that.

I guess the reasoning is that Apple and Google (ads) are consumer driven businesses. Average consumers will likely suffer under current administration. In contrast, NVIDIA and Microsoft’s corporate customers will continue to grow rapidly as they reap AI-driven savings and new revenue streams.

I suspect the real attendance was much lower. I paid to attend, but I cancelled my trip. I found it unconscionable to attend CVPR in a Republican state. Like most Canadians, I plan to NEVER, EVER buy American unless we absolutely have no other choice.

This was me on the bus tonight. A @flomask.bsky.social respirator with a "Pro" filter equivalent to an N99 that is as easy to breathe through as most N95s.

I have equipped it with a @sipmask.bsky.social port so I can drink.

I don’t have any insider info, but I agree with your read. Imho ScaleAI was built on hype and never worth its lofty valuation. Its service was overpriced and they often dropped the ball, even on multimillion dollars contracts. Its long term outlook in the age of VLMs is bleak.

Lucky you! Great photo! I just went on a walk in a relatively dark, northern suburb on Toronto and despite a clear sky, I didn’t see anything.

For some reason, most media doesn't correct this claim, and I fell for what are incorrect reports.

I just want to emphasize that devs working at Builder .ai most likely did not know about the accounting fraud part. They joined a hot AI startup, and did the best work they could.
