What are your favorite medical themed RPG scenarios or books? Mine is Invasive Procedures, where the PCs are patients in a hospital run by a secret cult of surgeons. Every night a patient is operated on with disturbing results. (shout out to @rufflejax.bsky.social for reminding me about it)

My heart dwells in the weird little indie TTRPG universe, but I'm impressed by the new wave of big heroic fantasy games: Daggerheart, Draw Steel, and the Cosmere RPG. Each has lavish production values, a clear design intent and ethos, and fun, interesting mechanics. Good stuff.

Daggerheart isn't trying to move beyond D&D, it's trying to rewrite D&D to serve the players already at the table. And, frankly, it succeeds. A long essay on game design, why "D&D is a genre," and how Daggerheart understands that great rules don't make for great roleplaying... great stories do.
