Put your EarPods on and listen to this 👇. Minecraft is where the game happens, but Autcraft is where the magic is! Based on my research, its pedagogical approach is unparalleled for neurodiverse learners.

Autistic love languages can look different than NT ones. We like to share experiences, may unmask around people we are comfortable with, do penguin pebbling, share a special interest, stim, or infodump.

The distinction is crucial. The words we use shape attitudes!
🧵Autistic
Representation in Autism Research

Historically, autism research has been conducted ON autistic people rather than with autistic people. In recent years, there has been an increase in research conducted by autistics for autistics.

I'm delighted to share that an article I wrote about supporting #neurodivergent workers appeared in WeAreTheCity for #WorldMentalHealthDay & #ADHDAwarenessMonth.

So excited to see that they've included #NeurodiversityInTheWorkplace in their "must read" section too!

Since I was made #redundant & I'm now job hunting again, I have realised that most #recruitment processes are not #inclusive of #neurodivergent folk. The more interviews I attend, the more floors I notice in a very unfair, discriminatory & biased system ⬇️

I was made redundant five months ago and I still don't have a job. Why? because most recruitment processes are not neuro-inclusive...
Since sitting in a redundancy meeting and hearing the words, "we have decided to make your role redundant," I have been job hunting. Scrolling job sites.

Yes I talk about this too in my talks
I wrote about this on my blog

“but what if also my autistic signs hid my ADHD, and my ADHD symptoms hid my autism. Meaning that my “behaviour” didn’t fit nicely into either category, thus going undiagnosed until I realised in my mid-20s” ⬇️

I’m a mom and hands down I can say…this topic is so important. It’s poorly understood, so we really need more research. Is anyone interested in participating in this study?👇

That sums it up pretty well. 👇
If neurotypical conversation is like tennis (with quick back-and-forth chat), is #Autistic conversation like golf?

My aim is to whack the ball accurately towards a shared goal. I need silence and time to get it right. Then my conversation partner steps up to take their turn.
