I’ve gotten back to reading trashy novels for a bit after a long hiatus.
Wow. Some have been good, but so many feature really horrible relationships. Reminds me why I stopped reading them in the first place.
I’m not interested in reading about bad people.

Bravo!"), but she also retired from being an actress, because why work in an industry that rewards and celebrates men who treat women like shit and suffer no consequences?

There's a political economy case to be made that this was the whole ball game for the legitimacy of US institutions among lower-income & -education cohorts. Even though very few workers make the federal minimum wage, a *majority* make less than the inflation adjusted level from the 1960s
A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.
