It would have been easy for this movie, with a roller skate based sport, to wander into camp. Instead, it became a classic that holds up today.

One of the things we forget from time to time is that people play games for different reasons. We talk a lot about storytelling in roleplaying games, but for some players the mechanics themselves are the fun part. We can learn from those players to become better storytellers.

In an ideal world TTRPGs would be treated like applications (think VTTs or AVID) and modules like scripts with minor royalties.

APs are likely in the top 10 reasons Wizards is pushing Beyond so much.

That doesn't help writers though and gaming needs to adopt a residuals model.
There’s a justified level of frustration on the part of TTRPG designers and developers that the games we create frequently get used in successful actual play shows without proper credit or any compensation. I sincerely hope that more and more APs do better about this.
