It's just bullshit. There's zero advantage and a gazillion downsides. Ignoring the whole "how do we launch all this mass" part, cooling is _really hard_, the latency sucks, and the maintenance expense is ginormous. It's a dumb dumb dumb idea in every conceivable way.

So that's the lesson that pops up for me with AI stuff--when evaluating now, I look at whatever the focus is NOT on.

This isn't to say AI won't eventually be good enough to smooth out everything, but right now it can't. The tells are outside what the video/image wants you to focus on.

There are still lots of good people and projects of course but many of them are sucked into enabling the terrible shit, too. Seeing the focus of the Cloud Native community turn towards AI workloads was really depressing for me.
