Got smoked by my wife and son running Wharf to Wharf today (been injured) but got a nice selfie with Galen Rupp after who is thankfully not injured.

Don't recall him running on raising drug prices for everyone
"We are going to be announcing shortly a major tariff on pharmaceuticals," Trump says.

This NYT article about Helene has a couple people that are just infuriating. This guy is basically saying he just wants more insurance, right? He also complained that the government was covering up alternative COVID treatments in 2020, so "independent" feels like a stretch.

I usually give money to causes and not candidates, but I'm certainly going to write a check to whoever runs in a primary against Schumer.

Feels like an appropriate headline should be something like "President invites drug addicted deadbeat Dad to address cabinet meeting, run the government" instead of normalizing Elon being there.

Gov. Mills: I’ll comply with the state and federal laws

Trump: We are the federal law. You better do it because you’re not going to get any federal funds.

My sympathies to everyone that has to explain “Not Like Us” to their parents or grandparents at halftime today.

This thread is very important and this action is also very illegal. But they’re going to destroy research in this country and for what?

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

Honestly doing stupid performative things like this just makes people realize that lots of the other performative orders are also BS and we should ignore them.
Insanity — Trump signs an order blaming Biden and DEI for flight dangers

After watching this press conference where everyone (President, VP, Sec of Defense and Transportation) quickly went to blame DEI for this crash, I wonder what they'll say if everyone involved turns out to be a white male?

Yup, @jamellebouie.net has this exactly right. What these guys are celebrating/pursuing/yearning for is not masculine energy, it's *adolescent* energy. Drinking Red Bull, crushing Call of Duty, refusing to clean your room. It is indescribably pathetic. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/18/o...

@kenwhite.bsky.social Much like the Menendez Mercedes, if you’re trading political favors for a loan to buy a Porsche shouldn’t the loan at least buy you a 911?

Went and did Hyrox again, finished 4th in my age group because I fell apart on the wall balls at the end to miss the podium. Will have to enter again to get onto it but still better than 6 months ago.

The US Track and Field team is just bananas this year. Competitive at every single event for the first time I can ever recall, and dominant in some. Just great to watch.
