When you look at the mix of councilors elected, the results of the #yyccc election are far from a clear ant-blanket zoning mandate. It was only ever a nightmare to those who already own a home, and who's biggest fear in life is finding (free) parking. calgaryherald.com/opinion/colu...

Two Years on a Cargo Bike. @cailynn.bsky.social makes a great point here on e-cargo bikes (and e-bikes in general). Thought of as occasional or recreational use case, they are pricey. I saw lots of people turn away at the polls yesterday when they were told it was a 1 hour plus wait. That is the only explanation for such a low turnout in an election that had an anti-incumbent theme and a fairly rare wide-open mayoral race. #yyccc #ableg

Even at the most ambitious "Drill, baby, drill" projections for production growth, oil and gas jobs will likely decline in the province. And of course ~WTI in the $50's won't be helpful.

Downtown #yyc office vacancy edges down slightly. Office-residential conversions helped remove inventory, but was largely offset by O&G mergers lowering occupancy. Hopefully the new #yyccc continues with the progress made on residential conversions.

Downtown #yyc office vacancy edges down slightly. Office-residential conversions helped remove inventory, but was largely offset by O&G mergers lowering occupancy. Hopefully the new #yyccc continues with the progress made on residential conversions.
