Hey comics writer friends, I am now out of the US intelligence community and no longer have conflicts of interest. If you’re writing intel related stories and need an expert opinion …hit me up.

I’m three books away from completing my 2024 reading goal. Might raise the goal next year and make a point to include more comics.

Did you know? Black Friday is named in honor of Rebecca Black, who invented Friday in 2011.

Had an idea for a new comic story that basically boils down to:

What if Nightwing and Doctor Strange teamed up for Call of Cthulhu campaign?

Today is my 15th Thanksgiving living in the U.K. Kids are in school all day while I smoke a turkey for dinner tonight. It’s still strange watching Thanksgiving football in the evening though.

Looking to read up on Green Lantern. Is Geoff John’s’ ‘Rebirth’ the best place to start?

Good weekend, despite the storm causing Biblical winds. Got some great creative news and both my (American) football teams won (college and NFL). I'll be working through roughly 4 comics writing projects at various levels of development this week. Let's freaking go!

With Storm Bert blowing through, it’s a good day to catch up on Conan the Barbarian comics.

Rereading Super Gods by Morrison. Great book, but it leaves me wishing he’d wrote a book on Chaos Magic.

Repeating my helpful little mnemonic song from Twitter:

If he'll drive you to the criming, he's a Fed 👏👏
If he'll drive you to the criming, he's a Fed 👏👏
If you can't get there without him
And you don't know much about him
If he'll drive you to the criming, he's a Fed 👏👏
after another long day of browsing old court documents, i just want to remind everyone that if a stranger agrees to do something illegal with you and they keep asking you to say out loud what the illegal plan is, that’s because the officer is recording you.

Saw Gladiator II last night. Wow. That is the Madame Web of historical epics. Not good. Denzel was amazing, but everything else was a contrivance on top of an overburdened plot. Sad too, because there’s a good story there. It was just told much better in the original.

Con crud came on yesterday. Slept terrible, couldn’t breathe. Feel like death. Still worth it.

One great thing about writing comics is that I can spend too much money buying comics and just tell my wife it’s for ‘work.’ Best part is…she believes it.

Perhaps I should post more. I've never really seen social media as an outlet for writing, but it is a great place to polish your voice in short bites.
I did it! I wrote up my Posting Middle Classes Theory, and tried to explain why I think Threads failed where Bluesky succeeded: youngvulgarian.substack.com/p/down-in-th... (free to read)

Today is ‘open house’ at my day job, where family gets to come in for a lunch and tour. My daughter is most excited that she gets to see my coworker/friend.
