It’s Sunday, it’s 4am, and I have a million things to do. So why the bloody hell am I reading about baked beans on The Guardian website?

Running a theatre can be hard work and never-ending, but I’m so lucky to be involved in so many great shows and meet great comedians. Finally got one half of the Delightful Sausage here tonight and she was brilliant. Must get the other half sometime.

A great evening with Miles Jupp. Delightful turns of phrase and very funny. So glad we’ve been able to have him here.

Sad to learn of the death of Tony Slattery, who I adored on TV in the 90s with his mischievous asides and cheek. We were lucky to have him at Chorley Theatre the other year and there was a lot of love and warmth in the room for him.

Second live show of the year was the Wicked tour show at Manchester Palace. It was fantastic!

For so many reasons, a joy and a delight to have Matt Forde perform with us tonight. Great bloke, very funny... and I'm home by 10. He's doing the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow, but it won't be a patch on Chorley Theatre...

OOh, might have to make a wintry trip to Colwyn Bay
This is very exciting for all Monty Python and/or Terry Jones fans. And comedy historians in general.

The personal archives of the late Terry Jones exhibited at Colwyn Bay (his home town)

Please share this. Thanks.

I know Paul Foot has brought new people in to Chorley Theatre because someone’s just asked for a Latte. We’re not that fancy.

Just driven past a house with a huge chalkboard outside saying LES FORGE.

At first I thought the owners had, weirdly, given their home a fancy French name until I realised it should have read LEST WE FORGET but some letters have come off in the rain.

Another great evening watching They Might Be Giants, this time at the 02 Ritz Manchester. 2 hours on stage and every one a banger.

Enjoyable afternoon watching Paddington 3. It's the weakest so far, but a weak Paddington is still much better than most stuff coming out. Plenty of laughs, and great to see Olivia Colman doing comedy again.

Went out for lunch and the restaurant had "Chorley Chips" so I asked what that was and got told "It's Poutine with a Chorley twist" as if that helps.

It turned out to be chips in gravy.

(and very nice)
