This is awful. Horribly reminiscent of PledgeMusic taking millions of money, and artists like Neil Innes losing out. I'd hoped nothing like that would happen again.

Richard Curtis said at the time he thought they'd be getting a lot of criticism for their depiction of WWI so wrote the poppies ending to bring it back. But in the end the criticism they anticipated didn't really happen and so the ending hit even harder than they thought it would.

According to The Guardian the other day writers are deliberately leaving things on cliffhangers as leverage to stop a show getting cancelled. Doesn’t work though!
