I think if you see this kind of thing trend up in newer generations, it's because the concept of old fashioned masculine values have become entirely abstract to them and they fail to see that 99% of "old fashioned" guys would have zero sympathy for anything they're saying

i really wish i could get people to understand that it's not an aesthetic preference to read physical copies of books- i, like many people, spend too much time staring at screens to begin with, and reading a book or whatever on a screen for a long time period is just a recipe for a searing migraine
