BREAKING: a rival Pope has been declared and taken residence in Avignon, France. This Avignon Papacy is a direct rival to the Chicago Pope and sets up a conflict between AP and Chicago style Catholics.

I’m such a fun person to go out for a drink with because I say things like ‘you shouldn’t use ibid or id in Chicago manual 17th Ed footnotes because it’s too easy for them to be orphaned, use shortened citation instead’. 😘
