What's the difference between a "welfare queen" & a food-insecure SNAP recipient?
inner-city clinics & rural hospitals
gov't handouts & "aid to struggling farmers?"
COINTELPRO & weaponizing the DOJ?
overpolicing & military occupation?
A Fascist & Trump?

Marjorie Taylor Greene is just one of the marginalized MAGA American activists who are concerned because Trump is doing exactly what they elected him to do.

It's not a shutdown then, it's a coup
Republicans could override the filibuster and reopen the government with only 51 votes.

Any other solution requires the House, and Johnson is refusing to bring it back into session.

Republicans completely control the shutdown. They don't want to reopen the government.

The shutdown is ultimately a legislative negotiation about a budget.
Hard to resolve it when the controlling party in one part of Congress refuses to negotiate, will not re-open the House, is not in DC.
Mike Johnson says he will not bring the House back in session until the government reopens

States have been told not to send transmissions to state EBT vendors by end of October.

This means SNAP benefits would not be distributed to anyone who qualifies.

I know my state and many others are reaching out for further guidance. This would send 40+ million Americans into food insecurity.

We don’t need all the soy and corn that we grow, but those are the commodities that receive subsidies and markets.
