While it’s perhaps true that some folks can’t or don’t want to have such conversations, I very much agree that those of us who can and do want these conversations should be engaging thusly 👌🏻👏🏻
People don't fit into boxes. And assuming the worst will always make you miss the best. We have to learn how to reach across the aisle. We have to learn how to speak to the hearts and values of everyone- not just those who think like us.

I want to read Kahlil Gibran’s ‘The Broken Wings’, but for now this quote still nourishes and challenges me— “God said ‘Love Your Enemy,’ and I obeyed him and loved myself.” I’m still trying to figure out how to love myself too :)

Understanding these two conflicting notions and finding ways to blend them together is part of what many historians and anthropologists regularly do. And it's a skillset that would be beneficial for many people.
