(4/3) We had the easiest fucking two-answer multiple-choice test in the history of tests, and we managed to fail it. It’s remarkable.

Attending a conference where researchers in my field (studying online misinformation and manipulation) are commiserating over all of our canceled grants, all in service of this: so this man and his regime of propagandists and conspiracy theorists can dictate (un)reality without challenge.
This exchange is so very telling.

Trump repeatedly claims the photoshopped MS-13 on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckles is real, Terry Moran keeps telling him it isn't, prompting Trump to say this:

"I never heard of you. I picked you. You’re not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed... Just say yes!"

If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

We don’t if they were gang members, only that Trump’s DOJ says they were. But they’ve had no trials. They are “accused.” They are “alleged” to be members of a gang that Trump has named. And now they are vanished.

This is an actual nightmare and we should be up in arms.
250 Venezuelans have been disappeared into one of the worst prisons in Central America based on Trump’s invocation of a law only used 3 times in our history - the last time resulted in the Japanese-American internment. These men have had no due process. It’s monstrous.

On Friday, two boys stepped outside their Gaza City home — just for a moment, to find firewood for their evening meal.

But an Israeli drone found them first, firing the missile that killed them.

This is not law. It couldn’t withstand legal scrutiny.

Don’t comply in advance university presidents. General counsel, don’t panic. Do law, not vibes.
Real question. What is an “illegal protest”? Real question. He was convicted of a crime. Why hasn’t he been expelled?

The point here is Trump does not recognize order, laws, defined terms, accountability. It never mattered to him. And for that reason the Constitution is just a bunch of words to him as well. “I have an Article II that says I can do whatever I want.”

That’s why these suits are so important.
Trump: "Elon is to me a patriot. So, you know, you could call him an employee, you could call him a consultant, you could call him whatever you want."

Historically, suddenly forcing massive numbers of highly educated and well paid people into unexpected mass unemployment has not led to *stability*
Again, there are literally not enough jobs to rapidly absorb all these displaced federal workers (who will also now be competing for non-government jobs with everyone else in the U.S.).
That’s a lot of pissed off former DOD workers desperately looking for jobs

He also drove out the senior career official at Treasury responsible for preventing a potential default on U.S. debt.
