Levels of calprotectin were higher in primary APS & aPL+ patients vs controls

Calprotectin provoked aPL-mediated thrombocytopenia by engaging platelet surface TLR4 and activating the NLRP3-inflammasome, thereby reducing platelet viability in a caspase-1-dependent manner
