Even more US military assets coming to Australia. More US bases. More US weapons. Celebrating a dominant foreign government sending its military into our harbours and cities and taking multiple footholds here … it’s cringeworthy, tragic and wrong.

I'm a US citizen preparing to move to Australia (hopefully forever:). Hard to understand why the Australian government would think this was a good time to be making deals with the US, which has been making it clear how little it values its allies (and is on a murder campaign in the Caribbean).

Why Australia should build AI to amplify human capability
Debates about artificial intelligence miss a crucial point: the real issue is not whether AI is powerful, but whether we use it to replace human judgment or strengthen it.

Things you learn
This is $450,000 per term, per electorate. Plus interest on that money, let’s call it half a million. $75,000,000 per term of government for small re-election bribes.

Next time you’re waiting hours in a hospital emergency waiting room, think what this money could do.

Canned because they realised what he was likely to say. His is across the strategic destruction of Gaza by Israel and would have been able to highlight evidence that is irrefutable causing much discomfort for those in authority and mainstream media.
"...the NPC’s list of sponsors reveals the problem. Among them are no less than ten firms with links to the arms industry that is profiting from Israel’s destruction of Gaza, including four of the very largest defence manufacturers in the world – BAE, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and Thales."
New:
Censorship by any other name.
The National Press Club cancelled a speaker, Chris Hedges, who planned to address the mass killing of journalists in Gaza. The mainstream press didn’t report it.

Australia's dependence on the US does not end with Trump
Malcolm Turnbull’s recent Foreign Affairs essay, America’s Allies Must Save Themselves, is a good intervention in the debate about Donald Trump’s impact on global order.

The theme of this article is the last of many written since Trumps inauguration. It demonstrate the change in American policy means the world, and Australia must pivot and regain our sovereignty as opposed to blindly thinking everything will be ok. Sadly I don’t think Australia has the leadership.

Correct. Also just because the Americans says it is so doesn’t make it so. Zelensky is a rare breed of politician. Calling out the truth & representing and taking positive actions on behalf of his people not himself or corporations. We could use some of that in Australia to be honest.
The thing about bullies is, when you actually stand up to them, they fold like the house of cards they are

Zelenskyy is showing the world how fragile this entire hyperstructure of global power is

If we withdraw our consent, and build the world we need, it will crumble

Do we have the guts?
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media
