Is that 30 billion correct?

Albanese could, he should, but he won’t.

Off course there would be backlash. Just because you hide what you are doing does not mean people don’t realise what you are doing. We don’t have Nuclear subs and under AUKUS we won’t and we know that too. Treat us like fools no wonder trust in Govt, politicians, senior PS is at an all time low.

There has to be something we are not aware of. The foreign policy stance of most of our trading partners has identified the changed dynamic and pivoted and adapted their policies given the actions of the US. And we just double down and are happy to spend a fortune with no benefit to do so. Why ??

All to protect the US interest. In the world of today it seems China is the magnanimous one.

I was in China in 2024. There was limited pollution to see. Solar panels, wind turbines, electric cars, high speed trains everywhere. I acknowledge they burn coal etc. My assessment was China did not agree to Paris because it was a western construct but they will beat those targets easily.

Totally agree

Correct, I have pondered whether anything that criticises the script these days just would not be published. It reminds me of the comment Evil prevails where good people do nothing. It seems that an opposing thought or view just does not see the light of day these days. So much for critical thought.

Frankly who is an eminent business person anyway?? Why do they get a say over ordinary Australians. And we have so many Royal Commissions and what if anything changes. Robodebt has gotta be a classic. No one was held accountable in the end. So what’s the point?? I think we know.

So well said.

Correct. Tonight’s 730 report among other things spoke to Why?? I will never justify what happened in Bondi, ever, because you cannot in any way excuse it as it’s reprehensible on any level. However what is and continues in Gaza cannot be discounted as to what may motivate individuals.

That’s pretty correct and now forced into a corner. It is what happens when you fail to lead sadly. You then can only respond.

I'm a US citizen preparing to move to Australia (hopefully forever:). Hard to understand why the Australian government would think this was a good time to be making deals with the US, which has been making it clear how little it values its allies (and is on a murder campaign in the Caribbean).

I cannot think of any public service that has been improved by outsourcing, not one. When profit has to be the first pillar then service just fails. Aged care, NDIS, Health, Public Housing, Universities that have public funding cut and I could go on.

Let’s make no mistake this is a choice by Labor. They can find money for Glencore, Whyalla, Rex, the US defence industry all of which add little benefit other than subsidies for foreign companies to retain staff, maybe. The CSIRO not only employ staff but actually do stuff that matters. It’s so sad.

A very worthwhile read. It just saddens me that both sides of politics act in this manner and allow evil to prevail. People ask how Robodebt could happen, it is exactly outlined here. Good people do nothing and evil is allowed to prevail, looking after themselves and bugger the public.

I don’t know about hatred, but I do accept delusional. If there is little chance that sacrifice now will lead to something in the future, then why not enjoy life now given a purchase of a home is likely unattainable in the long term. It seems a logical choice to be honest.
