One of the things every new Bluesky user should be aware of is that at some point you will be put on both a “shitlib” block list by someone and a “tankie communist” block list by someone and neither of them will matter but you will wonder why you got put on both

Wait it's November 20th?! What happened to the previous months? Sometimes it feels like it should still be Summer not 5 weeks from 2025.

Oh the days before enshitification are glorious but fleeting.

Real people. Honest engagement. No ads. Generation X spilling their guts into mobile phone interfaces, so they don’t have to talk to their spouses.

That’s good social media!

Soon the brands will arrive to sell us beef sheets and soda

I hope BlueSky avoids the problem Twitter had once the "normies" logged in. it's the "Eternal September" problem which plagued Usenet and most platforms.

I enjoyed Twitter in the beginning. it was a great new source of discussion. I didn't enjoy the first few months of BlueSky 1/3

I love nonfiction books and as a kid it helped me understand a world larger than I was allowed to experience.

Since it's been a while, here's my quick bio:

I'm a moderate in almost everything. Politics, demeanor, etc. I strive to be a boring person. I appreciate our differences.

I'm a musician, a recovering technologist, and a resource for the corporate grind.

Decided to back out of social media for a while. This account will go bye-bye soon.

Amazed at how bad moderation is on Bluesky. I've seen attacks pulled faster from X, even after Musk's takeover.

I may have ingested more fine wood particles than one should while using a belt sander.

I really need to purchase some dust masks for the shop.

I’m building a new outdoor bench and gave up on it today.

Found a few things I don’t like and had to reset my brain and rethink my approach.

I have a design in my head but woodworking requires patience and that’s something I do not have.

"The bombs do not discriminate between Hamas members and civilians. They destroy all. We watched as the death toll in Israel and Gaza mounted. Like a depraved balance sheet, perhaps once the accounts balanced the fighting would end. Revenge and retribution are not a strategy for peace."
